Our Current President: Dave Smallwood
Dave lived many years in Parma before moving to and falling in love with Valley City. He has a passion to see our community become a vibrant community without loosing it small town charm.
Vice President, Jim Sandor: I am a lifelong resident of Valley City, Served as Pres. of Valley City Chamber for many years and as a director for over 20 yrs. One of the founders of the V.C. Park board in creating Mill Stream Park. Chairman of the Frog Jump for over 25 years. Current Chairman of the Zoning Board of Appeals. Graduate of Leadership Medina County and have been involved in many other organizations. Present owner of Sandor Properties, Special Event Catering and a Remodeling and Restoration Business. Reside in V.C. with my wife Alisa and children Darby & Keaton.
Treasurer, Barb Smallwood: Barb has been a resident of Valley City for over nine years after residing in Parma most of her life. She is married to Dave and has three children and eight grandchildren. She retired from the Parma City Schools as the Assistant Food Service Director.
Volunteering has been a big part of her life. She served as PTA Council President for the Parma Schools as well as holding office in several of the schools PTA’s. She was also active in the Valley Forge Boosters with Dave.
She was on the planning committee for the Parma Relay for Life for several years as well as the Diabetes Association.
Upon moving to Valley City she became involved with the Frog Jump and became treasurer for the VC Chamber and currently treasurer for the Valley City Community Group.
Recording Secretary, Denise Piovarchy: Denise has been a 46 year resident of Valley City. Denise and Chris Piovarchy have been married 37 years; have three wonderful sons and daughters in law, along with eight beautiful grandchildren. Denise and Chris are blessed that their children and their families have also made Valley City their home.
Denise has been an active member of the community and is now pleased to serve as the Recording Secretary of the Valley City Citizens Group.

Dave Kruse: Dave lived in Granger Township for 30 years before moving to beautiful Valley City in 2007. Married since 1970 to his wife Mae, they have 2 daughters, a son and 7 beautiful grandchildren. He’s been a part of many non-profit organizations. He is pleased to be involved in helping to establish the Valley City Group Organization.
Denise “Nisi” Pozderac: Nisi Pozderac is President/Administrator of Transitional Living Centers (TLC), providing homes for developmental and intellectually disabled residents in Northern Medina County. Nisi’s philosophy, “Do the right thing, always, regardless of the consequences” sums up her successful career and life path.
Rod Knight: A Valley City-ite and lover of the Frog Jump Festival since 1975. Frog Jumpin’ helps preserve by positive action the small town spirit that is important in this ever changing world. Come join us.
Rod is an ardent student of Liverpool history and awed by stories from our past that may have happened on your road/house/favorite place.
Linda Garrett: Owner of A Room With A View Studio, Linda is the ever creative one, always looking to try something new, and not afraid of a challenge. You can always find her in the Retail Tent at the Frog Jump enticing event goers to savor a souvenir whilst her hubby Joe pours brews at the beer garden.
Dave Raco: A 13-year resident of Valley City, Dave and his wife Katie, have two children, Lilly and Sam. Dave has been active with the Frog Jump for several years. He has also volunteered as a coach for several youth sports organizations and continues to coach his son’s baseball team. Dave works for TA Operating, LLC; owners/operators of the TA, Petro, Minit Mart and Quaker Stake & Lube brands. Dave is a graduate of Lock Haven University. You can find Dave in a pond catching rental frogs or in the Frog Jump ring helping kids and adults with their frogs every August. Stop by and say “hello.”
Barbara Knight: The year I started working the Frog Jump I was on the official’s wagon and it was 1977. When it was turned over to me in 1979, 149 jumped. Now with all of the great help we jump over 700. I enjoy escorting our Mascot, Mayor Ribbit, around the ring in the exciting opening each year. I stay active in the Historical Society and Emmanuel Church. I feel this small community is important even though I am a city girl, as my husband calls me. Born in Philadelphia, lived in Minneapolis and graduated high school in Kansas City, Missouri.
John Baker: Pastor of LifeSpring Community Church. Pastor John moved from St. Paul Minnesota in 2012 to begin ministry in our town. Since being here, he has worked hard to bring their church into greater community involvement. He believes his ministry and the church’s should do all it can to foster a stronger community and so the church must be involved in the local community right outside its doors. John has 3 children (a senior at Brunswick High, a Senior at Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion, IN , and a masters student now living in St. Paul, MN).
Collin Vickers: “Collin is the branch manager of PNC Bank in Valley City, where he has managed since 2009. Collin enjoys helping people and appreciates how the entire Valley City community seems to share that same quality. He is a lifelong Medina County resident. Collin and his wife Alyson have two young children, Elizabeth and Lucas.”
Mary Ann Bauer
