In March 2016, the Valley City Chamber of Commerce joined with the Brunswick Chamber of Commerce to form the Northern Medina County Chamber Alliance, ushering in a new era for the region. Shortly thereafter, in May 2016, the Valley City Community Group was established to preserve and carry on Valley City’s cherished annual events and High School Scholarship Programs. We formed the Valley City Community Group as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to enriching life in our community. Over the years, our Community Group has contributed to a variety of projects and initiatives. The construction of a pavilion at Mill Stream Park and the implementation of a downtown building lighting project are just two of the many projects we have undertaken over the years. In addition to hosting and managing our annual Frog Jump and Christmas in the Valley celebrations, we provide Independence Day fireworks and entertainment, host Movie in the Park each summer, and support a variety of community programs throughout the year. We also provide year-round event support to our Fire Department, Historical Society, and many other local organizations.
The funds we raise through our events also allow us to continue to offer two scholarships each year to graduating Buckeye High School or Medina County Career Center students residing in Liverpool township.
Giving back to the community though donations is also part of our culture. Some of these charitable donations include; Valley City Firefighters Association, Buckeye Music Boosters, Zion Lutheran Church Back-to-school backpack program, Life Spring Church Food Bank, Medina County Career Center Care Closet, and Buckeye High School adopt a family at Christmas.
Our Valley City Community Group mission is rooted deep in partnership—bringing together businesses, families, and individuals to promote historic preservation, economic development, and community pride. Over the past decade, we have grown and thrived thanks to the incredible support of our community, and we look forward to continuing this mission well into the future
