These festivals offer a glimpse into our charming township’s rich traditions and lively atmosphere. Here’s a look at the four standout events:
The Valley City Annual Independence Day Celebration (July 4)
Valley City comes alive every summer with the excitement of the 4th of July Celebration. This family-friendly event includes a dazzling fireworks display, parades, car show, and live music that capture the essence of American independence and local pride.
The Annual Frog Jump (July 20)
Each year, Valley City hosts one of its most beloved and unique events—the Annual Frog Jump. A highlight of the summer season, this quirky and fun competition draws participants of all ages who compete by encouraging frogs to jump the furthest distance. In addition to the frog races, the festival includes food vendors, kid’s games, craft vendors, entertainment, and other family-friendly activities, making it a perfect day out for the whole community. The Annual Frog Jump has become a true Valley City tradition, bringing a touch of whimsy and a lot of laughs while celebrating the township’s love of fun, family, and local culture.
VC Fire Association Annual Street Fair (Aug 15-17)
The Annual Street Fair offers a wonderful blend of summer activities for all ages. Featuring craft vendors, food stalls, live performances, bingo, kid’s games, and family-friendly activities, this festival brings together family and friends to enjoy some late summer fun while supporting local businesses and artisans.
The Valley City Christmas in the Valley (Dec 6-7)
During the winter, Valley City transforms into a holiday wonderland for the Christmas Celebration. The event includes an evening sing-a-long, festive decorations, holiday shopping, local food vendors, a Chili Cook-Off, Storytime stories by Mrs. Claus, a Santa parade, and Santa visits. It’s a heartwarming way to kick off the holiday season with the whole community.

Firefighters Association's Pancake Breakfast
It’s time for the Firefighters association’s annual Pancake Breakfast! Come down to the Valley City Fire Department Sunday, March 2nd and Sunday March 9th for an all you can eat pancake, sausage, and scrambled egg breakfast! Enjoy the community fellowship while supporting our brave firefighters.
May 26th
Memorial Day Parade
Join us on Memorial Day For the Traditional Memorial Day parade followed by a ceremony of remembrance presented by VFW Post 5563. Those interested in marching (remember this is a somber event) should line up at the community center at 10:30AM. The Parade will kick-off at 11:00AM
July 4th
Independence Day Parade and Fireworks
The Valley City community kicks off Independence Day with a vibrant morning parade starting at the historic Train Depot, featuring vintage cars, colorful floats, and enthusiastic participants. As dusk falls, families gather to enjoy a spectacular fireworks show, lighting up the night sky in a dazzling celebration of freedom and unity.
